About Me

I never dreamed I'd be lucky enough to be a wedding saxophone player and singer!

Who am I?

When I was at school I wanted to be an author, which is still a work in progress (follow for more info here!). Becoming a wedding saxophone player and singer was not something I ever thought would be my destiny. Some people are born with talent, while others work hard to discover theirs; and the latter describes me. I started playing the saxophone at the age of 11 when my Dad encouraged me to learn an instrument.

From there my interest in music began to grow. I regularly performed as part of the school orchestra and formed a 4 piece girl-band called ‘Obsession’ at the age of 13, performing in our school music shows and at local events. The buzz I felt when performing was addictive and I knew it was something I wanted to continue to pursue.

Studying for the love of music

I took my saxophone studies seriously and went on to pass my Grade 8 Jazz Saxophone exam with a distinction from Trinity Guildhall.  I continued my studies in Musical Theatre at college and earned a distinction in my Grade 8 singing exam from London College of Music. Since these early days I’ve continued to study and teach music and have a teaching diploma qualification in Popular Music Vocals from the London College of Music. Which means I can officially use the letters DipLCM(TD) after my name. Fancy, lol!

I work at Music Makers Academy and Taunton Music Service providing vocal and saxophone tuition to children and adults. Many of my students have chosen to take their own music examinations under my guidance, and have all achieved amazing results with distinctions and merits.

I always knew that I was destined to be on stage, and started my entertainment career at the age of 18.  Over the years I have worked with several bands and show teams as lead vocalist in the UK and abroad.  As a member of Vocal Works Gospel Choir, I’ve supported celebrity acts including Susan Boyle and Take That. I also played lead vocalist in the ‘Bobby Socks and Blue Jeans’ touring theatre show, the ‘No.1 Christmas Show’ and a the sell out ‘Rock n Roll back the years’ music show hosted by former Radio 1 DJ, David ‘Diddy’ Hamilton.

Flying solo

In 2010 I made the decision to launch my solo music career, working as a wedding saxophone player, singer and events musician. Since then I have earned the reputation as one of the UK’s Top wedding saxophone players. In 2020 I was crowned Event Entertainment Awards’ Best Wedding Ceremony Act for South West UK Region and I have won the best solo Musical act category at the South West Wedding Awards in 2022 & 2023. Most recently, I won The Wedding Industry Awards ‘Musical Act of The Year 2024’ for the South West region.

I truly love what I do and this passion for my craft is evident in all my performances. Music is such a powerful tool and can encompass so many thoughts, feelings and emotions. My primary mission is to delight my audiences; and so I use a variety of genres from moody blues to modern day pop, ensuring there is a song for all musical tastes.
